High School Assessments

9, 10, 11, 12 (end-of course assessments)
About the test
The Maryland High School Assessments (HSA) are a series of end-of-course tests that cover core academic areas in Biology and Government.
The Biology test consists of Selected Response (SR) items only. The Government test consists of both Selected Response (SR) and Constructed Response (CR) items. The CR items require students to write rather than select an appropriate response.
For HSA online testing, TestNav allows students to respond to the CR items electronically by selecting an answer choice. Students respond electronically to the HSA Government CR items by typing their answers into response boxes.
The HSAs are intended to meet the testing requirements for Maryland high school graduation as well as the high school testing requirements for federal law.
